Why this exists

Restaurant bills are almost never round numbers. $47.83, $112.16, $8.40 — the kind of totals that make mental math annoying and printed tip cards useless. What's My Tip is built around one idea: type in what's actually on your check, and get an exact answer back immediately.

What it does

Two tools, both on this one page:

• Tip Calculator — enter your bill, pick a percent (or set your own), choose whether tax should factor into the tip, and split the total evenly across however many people are paying.
• Group Split — for when everyone ordered something different. Enter what each person's share of the bill came to, and tax and tip get divided proportionally, so nobody overpays because they got the salad and someone else got the steak.

What it doesn't do

There's no account to create, no app to download, and nothing you enter is saved or sent anywhere. Every calculation happens right in your browser. Close the tab and it's gone — that's by design, not a limitation. See the privacy page for the specifics.

Who's behind it

What's My Tip is an independently built, ad-supported tool — not a company, not a startup, just a calculator that does one job well. If something's broken or confusing, feedback is always welcome.
